Watt Matthews of Lambshead
Watt Matthews was 90 years old. Except for four years spent at Princeton, he had spent his entire life on the ranch he ruled. He was among the last of the great Texas cattlemen. The New York Times said, “Wilson’s photographic book has become a classic of Texas history.” (Texas State Historical Association, 1989)
